[COVID-19 update] RunMags Customer Support

Update on how RunMags will support customers and business partners during times of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 virus.

Dear RunMags Customer,

At RunMags, we are committed to providing our partners and customers with global, world-class support. Given the ever-changing situation surrounding COVID-19, we wanted to let you know what we're doing to help you continue operating your business.

First, we want to reassure you that we have a thorough business continuity plan, which leverages our global network to ensure support will continue to be provided in the event that the availability of any location is impacted.

Our business continuity plan takes many factors into consideration including how we serve customers globally. Hosting the RunMags platform on Amazon's secure and resilient AWS infrastructure is a major factor. Their global resources are really giving our little company superpowers.

But also, and probably even more important, our office-less and remote first business model with social distancing built into it is making us less susceptible to the risks associated with the COVID-19 virus. As a customer, you already know that we always use Whereby for virtual meetings and online demos. We rarely meet IRL and in fact, I have only met my CTO and co-Founder Johan Trusell twice IRL since we started working on RunMags. And we still meet and talk pretty much on a daily basis.

We foresee that the coming months will be very challenging for many businesses. Using cloud technology like Whereby, G Suite and RunMags can help publishers all over the world with their own business continuity plans. We have customers that have had their entire office wiped out by earthquakes and hurricanes. But since RunMags is hosted in the cloud, they were able to pick themselves up and get back to business operation very shortly after the disasters.

COVID-19 poses a different type of risk, but if your publishing business is operating on RunMags, you can let people work from home, thereby helping to flatten the curve through self-quarantine until a vaccine has been developed. It's also a great opportunity to try out virtual meetings in Whereby. In addition to their paid plans, they offer a free one so sign up now.

Have kids and feel overwhelmed with the thought of schools closing? Many of us have kids too and we've successfully used Khan Academy for homeschooling during extended workations. They offer online exercises, quizzes, and tests so students can practice and master skills, as well as instructional videos to help students learn or review material. It's completely free and really good.

That's it from us at this time. Any changes will be posted on our blog, so please check it for the latest news. We are committed to providing you with the best support possible during this uncertain time.

Wash your hands, stay at home and use Cloud Technology ;-)

Thank you,

Robert Bergqvist
